Dr Govinda KC shifted to special care unit

Kathmandu, July 7

Senior orthopaedic surgeon Dr Govinda KC, who has been staging a hunger strike, was admitted to special care unit of Karnali Academy of Health Sciences in Jumla today after his white blood cells count decreased.

Dr Prabin Kumar Giri, vice-president of KAHS who is attending to Dr KC, informed that due to lack of enough oxygen in the blood, his white blood cells count had been decreasing.

Dr Giri informed that Dr KC was suffering from muscle cramps, increase in Ketone bodies in his urine, dizziness and decrease in blood pressure levels.

He said Dr KC was moved to the special care unit  of the hospital to protect him from any kind of infection. He requires continuous monitoring as his health condition is continuously deteriorating. A team of Dr Prabin Kumar Giri, Dr Dhiraj Gurung and Dr Siddhartha Khati has been attending to the agitating doctor.
