Drive to destroy illegall structures launched in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT: A drive has been launched to pull down illegally built infrastructures on public land throughout the district.

The drive aims to demolish the illegal buildings erected within the district headquarters' market area and in the forest of the district.

Jajarkot District Forest Office (DFO) started the process after the squatters ignored multiple notices issued by the office, informed a DFO official also mentioning that as many as 300 illegal structures have been erected including concrete buildings by encroaching the public lands within the market area.

According to the District Forest Officer Upendra Patel, DFO has started to remove illegal structures in Thaplechaur of Bheri Municipality-3 from Monday, as the first phase of the drive. Patel further added that appropriate action will be taken against the encroaches.

Meanwhile, Bheri Municipality has also published a notice for the same.

"The illegal structures within the Municipality will be removed in coordination with the DFO", said Mayor Chandra Prakash Gharti.
