Driver hurt as tipper truck rear-ends another truck in Dhading

DHADING: A man was injured after the tipper truck he was driving rammed another tipper truck from behind in Nilakantha Municipality of Dhading district this morning.

The injured has been identified as Kumar Karki of Lamjung district, who appeared to be in his 40s.

Karki was critically injured as the truck (Ba 2 Ka 7020) he was driving rear-ended the other truck (Ba 2 Ka 9111) at a bridge in Puchhar Bazaar at around 10:00 am today, according to police. Karki's truck was headed towards the headquarters of Dhading district from Malekhu.

The injured was rescued by police and Nepal Red Cross Society volunteers with the help of local residents. Injured Karki was referred to a health institution in Kathmandu after primary treatment at District Hospital, Dhading.

According to Karki, brake failure caused the loaded truck to ram another truck ahead at a decline.

Meanwhile, Traffic Police in the district have impounded both the vehicles.
