Former prime minister and Coordinator of Naya Shakti Nepal, Babu Ram Bhattarai, today said the country had successfully concluded a political revolution and it was now time for an economic revolution.

Speaking at an interaction organised by his party in Dhangadi today, Bhattarai said everyone should now focus on economic revolution. “The Constituent Assembly has already promulgated a new constitution, marking the culmination of a political revolution in Nepal. Economic revolution, in order to institutionalise the achievements so far, is the need of the hour,” said Bhattarai.

He also claimed that Nepal could be established as a prosperous country before 2040 only if everyone contributed accordingly.

“The state should invest in education, health, infrastructure development and energy and also promote the private sector,” he argued.
