Education Minister hands over school building

GORKHA: Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel has handed over a school building reconstructed after the 2015 earthquake.

The school building was reconstructed with the assistance of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the cost of Rs 56 million. The building having 13 rooms is the earthquake-resistant.

On the occasion, Minister Pokharel said modern and child-friendly building were now the prerequisite to quality education. Within coming two years, all school buildings damaged by the 2015 earthquake would be reconstructed, he informed.

The Minister, however, warned that the government would reconsider the donor agencies who do not complete the construction on time. Moreover, he said a new education act would be introduced within five months.
