KATHMANDU: The Election Commission on Wednesday asked all political parties and organisations not to organise tea reception parties and feasts on the occasion of Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, as had been the practice in the past.

EC Spokesperson Nabaraj Dhakal stated in a press release that such programmes could be a hindrance in holding the provincial and parliamentary elections in a free, fair and impartial manner.
