Constitution amendment proposal incomplete: Bhattarai

KAPILVASTU: Naya Shakti Party Nepal's Coordinator Dr Baburam Bhattarai has claimed that the Constitution amendment motion brought in by the government was incomplete.

Addressing a political training and party entry programme, organised by his party's interim district council here on Monday, the former prime minister said the Naya Shakti Party Nepal has made its stance clear on demarcating two provinces in Terai on five bases of identity and four bases of capability.

Dr Bhattarai further stressed on the importance of Constitution amendment for safeguarding and implementing the Constitution.

NSN Province Number 5 Coordinator Surendra Chaudhary warned of losing the achievements made so far if serious efforts were not made regarding the implementation of the Constitution even though it was incomplete.

On the occasion, leaders and cadres of different parties including Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Loktantrik) Vice-Chairperson Dan Bahadur Chaudhary defected to the party.
