Family of man killed by Indian SSB to receive compensation

PARSA: Finally after eight years, justice prevailed for the family of Mukunda Raya Yadav of Matiarba in Bara district as the Indian border security force, known as SSB, is going to compensate for Yadav's death at the hands of force.

Yadav, then 50, was shot dead by the SSB security personnel around Jamuniya in Bihar State of India over a minor dispute while he was returning from bordering market in India on October 3, 2009.

The compensation amounting to Indian currency Rs 500,000  (NRs 800,000) will be handed over to the deceased's family.

The SSB's police officers communicated to the officers in Nepal Police at Bara and Parsa and shared about the compensation on April 19.

This move is made by the security force of India following the severe criticism from the human right activists of both Nepal and India.
