Far-West shut down in protest against cow slaughter

KANCHANPUR: A bandh has been called for today in the Far Western region in protest against cow slaughter and demanding action against those involved in it.

The bandh was enforced by the Hindu State Protection Struggle Committee. The Committee has alleged that cows were being mercilessly slaughtered in a planned way in various parts of Kailali.

The bandh, however, has minor effect on Kanchanpur. Though passenger buses for the short distance were available from Mahendranagar Bus Park, long-route buses have remained off the roads.

The market, meanwhile, is gradually opening, though today is a holiday.
