Five fraudsters arrested for stealing money

Kathmandu, Sept 10

Police today nabbed five persons for their involvement in stealing money using forged point of selling machine, data card readers and dozens of credit and debit cards.

Organising a press meet today Metropolitan Police Range, Teku, displayed various high tech equipment used for stealing Rs 700,000 each from Kumari Bank Limited and Tourism Development Bank. Police have said the arrested persons might have stolen  more money, which can be ascertained only after further investigation.

Of the five arrestees, two are Nepali nationals — Bijay Dong Lama, 34, of Kavre and Arjun Nakarmi, 32, of Ward No 17, Kathmandu  — while three are Indian nationals — Bitu Gautam 28, Bikash Gosain, 32, and Jintu Jou, 34,

“This time the fraudsters used different technique to steal money, which was not used previously in the country,” Senior Superintendent of Police Basanta Kumar Lama said.
