Four arrested for faking certificates

Parsa Police today arrested four persons for selling fake training certificates that are required to procure driving licence from Birgunj.

A police team deployed from District Police Office, Parsa, arrested the operators of different driving centres after being informed that they were selling the necessary training documents required to procure licence for jeep, car, delivery van, tempo, minibus and tractors, among other four-wheelers in front of Birgunj-based Narayani Transport Management Office, today.

SP Raju Babu Shrestha, at the DPO, said the arrested were Bikash Baitha, operator of Narayani Driving centre; Bimal Adhikari, of Adhikari Driving Centre; Shyam Singh Chhetry, of Baba Driving Centre, and Dipak Shrestha, of Shrestha Driving Centre.

SP Shrestha said the accused were held for preparing fake training documents for unregistered driving centres and centres that do not have permission from the transport office.

Investigation against the arrested is under way, SP Shrestha added.

Police said the driving centres were selling fake documents for a huge amount to those who came from outside the districts for licence.

SP Shrestha further informed that the police team had also seized some documents, certificates, stamps, photos of service seekers and citizenship certificates, among others, from the driving centres.
