Four hurt as tractor plunges 100m in Dolakha

KATHMANDU: At least four persons were injured after a tractor they were travelling on fell below the road in Kalinchwok Rural Municipality-7 of Dolakha district on Monday night.

The injured have been identified as Saroj Siwakoti (18) of Kalinchok Rural Municipality-8, and Prabat Sedhain (22), Murari Sedhain ( 23) and Pujan Sedhain (13), all three  residents of ward no. 9 in the rural municipality.

According to police, the incident occurred when the tractor on test en route from Lektung to Sundarawati skidded of the road and fell about 100 metres below, injuring four passengers aboard trolley, at Neware Saunepani, at 10:00 pm yesterday.

The incident left Parbat's right hand broken, Pujan's right leg broken while Saroj and Murari sustained injuries in their head. Pujan is said to be in critical condition and has been rushed to a health institution in Kathmandu, police informed. Others injured are receiving treatment at the Primary Health Centre, Charikot.

Further investigation into the case is underway, police informed.

Meanwhile, police with the help of the tractor owner Shambhu Sedhain are searching for the driver who fled the scene after the incident, said police.
