Fuel station owners face music

Owners of as many as four petrol pumps, who were held on the charge of fleecing consumers, have today been remanded to custody for further investigation in Kavre.

Kavre District Court judge Awani Gyawali Bhattarai gave the verdict.

Atmaram Thapa, owner of Shree Ugrachandi Oil Store; Basanta Poudel, owner of Panchkhal Oil Store; Rajendra Pd Ghimire, owner of Mata Palanchowk Oil Store; and Jay Ambe Traders’ owner Binod Banjara were remanded to custody, according to registrar Hiranya Prasad Bhandari.

Police had filed fraud cases against them on December 4 after they were found to have wrongly installed remote and gear systems at their fuel stations.

Cheating case has been lodged against owners of Panchkhal Oil and Mata Palanchowk Oil Store.

Search is on for Thakur Bajgain and Ghan Shyam Khatri, operators of Mata Ugrachandi and Narayan Oil Stores, respectively, said police.
