Ghalegaun festival

LAMJUNG: The 17th Ghalegaun Festival is all set to be held in Lamjung’s popular tourism destination Ghalegaun from May 5.

According to organisers of the festival, the three-day gala aims to revive the tourism industry that received a huge setback due to last year’s devastating earthquake and blockade at various Nepal-India border points.

The festival in the 700-year-old village will feature Gurung cultural dances and musical entertainment programmes, among other attractions.

As many as 105 Dalit and Gurung households reside in the village. Some 32 houses here have been running home-stay facility for tourists.
