GORKHA: A man has been arrested on charge of repeatedly raping own nine-year-old daughter, in Gorkha district.

Police have arrested the 44-year-old man of Gorkha Municipality–11 following a complaint, said DSP of Gorkha District Police Office, Birendra Thapa.

Investigations revealed that he had tried to rape his daughter again some seven or eight days ago.

He had beaten her up after she refused to submit to his advances.

"The Gorkha District Court on Sunday remanded him for seven days for further investigation," DSP Thapa said.

At least five rape cases have been recorded in Gorkha district alone in the last one month, according to police.
