Minister of Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel today said his government was committed to fulfilling the dream of martyrs.

Speaking at a ceremony held to mark martyr Gauri Prasad Sah’s 15th death anniversary in Mirchaiya, the minister described federalism as a gift of martyrs’ sacrifice. “It’s because of their sacrifice that we have been able to practice federalism today,” said the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) leader, adding the people voted for his party as they believed that it would fulfil the dream of the martyrs.

Pokharel also informed about the government’s plan to launch a ‘green campaign’ as per which trees would be planted at schools. “Besides, the government is preparing to implement acts after getting them authenticated by the president,” he said.

Various other NCP (NCP) leaders, including Siraha Constituency-4 Provincial Assembly member Dilip Kumar Shah, also spoke on the occasion and stressed the need to follow the path shown by martyrs.
