Govt forms panel to probe Goma Air crash

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation today formed a five-member committee to probe into Goma Air crash in Everest region on Saturday.

According to a press statement issued today, the Ministry asked the concerned authorities to investigate into the case and get the detail report within 90 days under the Civil Aviation (Investigation of Accident) Regulation 2014.

The committee that would be led by former Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Triratna Manandhar also includes Col Ashish Narsingha Rana, Senior Captain Bodh Raj Niraula of Tara Air, Digambar Rajbhandari of Manang Air and Joint Secretary Suresh Acharya of the Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Ministry also expressed its condolence over the death of pilot Senior Captain Paras Kumar Rai and co-pilot Srijan Manandhar.

The 9N-AKY airplane with three crew members crashed while landing at Tenzing-Hilary Airport in Lukla yesterday.
