TAMGHAS: A 55-year-old man was hacked to death by unidentified assailants in Banjhkateri of Gulmi after Thursday midnight.

The victim has been identified as Chhatra Bahadur Sen Oli, a local resident, according to the District Police Office.

According to police, two persons first knocked Oli's door at around 1 am and asked him for money. Denying him them what they sought, however, cost Oli his life.

After attacking Oli with a sharp weapon, the assailants robbed the Oli's family of two mobile phone sets and gold ornaments that his wife and daughter were wearing, police said.
