Home-bound Dang man robbed in India

KANCHANPUR: A Nepali migrant worker returning home from India was robbed of cash and belongings in Haridwar region of India on Wednesday.

The victim who fell prey to the scam on Wednesday has been identified as Min Bahadur Rana of Mulabari in Kavre VDC of Dang district.

According to police, Rana was befriended by a man who looked like a Nepali. Taking advantage of the gullible man’s solitude, the Indian man anaesthetised Rana and robbed him of Indian Rupees 25,000, two sets of mobile phones and garments he had purchased for the family.

Later, Rana was found helpless in Melaghat region in Khatima, from where the Police Post in Dodhara Chandani Municipality of Kanchanpur district brought the victim to the DPO, the DPO spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP)   Nain Singh Karki informed.

Many Nepali migrant workers returning home from India fall prey to the scams in India, near the Nepali border.

Meanwhile, the Kanchanpur DPO has urged those returning from India to beware of scams.
