Houses handed over to quake victims in Lamjung

Choice Humanitarian Nepal, a non-governmental organisation, handed over 53 earthquake-resistant houses to victims of the 2015 earthquakes in Lamjung yesterday.

The organisation had constructed 31 houses at Duradanda Ward No 4 of Sundarbazaar Municipality, seven at Ward no 3 of Sundarbazaar Municipality and 15 at Dhamilikuwa, Ward No 7 of Rainas Municipality in the district.

“A total of 31 houses were built in Sundarbazaar Municipality with financial support from doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation and 15 houses in Rainas Municipality with grant support from Nepal Hope,” said Pratik Sharma, executive director of Choice Humanitarian Nepal.

Mayor of Sundarbazaar Municipality Janak Raj Mishra and his deputy Gyanu Shah handed over the keys of the houses to quake victims amid a function organised at Duradanda. Mayor of Rainas Municipality Singh Bahadur Thapa handed over the keys of the newly built houses to quake victims amid a function held at Dhamilikuwa.

“We are set to construct as many as 100 houses for quake victims of Dhamilikuwa in the near future,” said Kiran Neupane, programme director of Choice Humanitarian Nepal.
