Hydropower developer distributes computers to schools

RASUWA: A hydropower development project has provided computers to the schools in Rasuwa district, on Tuesday.

According to Chief of District Coordination Committee Kul Prasad Bhatta, Upper Trishuli-I Hydropower Project (with the capacity of 216 megawatt) provided 17 schools with 98 computers. The schools of Haku, Ramche and Dhunche areas were given the computers.

Headmaster of Rasuwa Secondary School based in Dhunche, Tempa Risang Ghale, said that learning and capacity building of the schoolchildren have become much easier with the computers.

Likewise, Chairman of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality Kaisang Nurpu Tamang said, as the support received by the schools has been useful and timely, the school headmasters are hopeful that such helping hands would gradually increase in the days to come.

Nepal Water and Energy Development Company is preparing to construct the project from coming October with the consortium investment from South Korea.

The entire infrastructure of the project would be underground and the length of the tunnel would be nine kilometres, the technicians said.
