I am contemplating how to move ahead: PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said he was mulling over the latest political situation after the CPN Maoist Centre withdrew its support from the coalition government.

"I am contemplating how to move ahead [now]," he told media while emerging from the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singhadarbar this afternoon. Arithmetically, the Oli-led government has been pushed to minority after the Maoists pulled out of it.

The Prime Minister, however, is said to be in a mood to face the Parliament. The Standing Committee meeting of his party CPN-UML, scheduled for this evening, is expected to take a decision over the matter.

Earlier in the evening, Prime Minister Oli held a meeting of the parties in the government.

Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had sent the letter to the Prime Minister, announcing the withdrawal of his party's support from the coalition government which was formed in October last year.
