India welcomes result

Kathmandu: India has welcomed the result of parliamentary and provincial first-past-the-post elections that points to the formation of left alliance government in Nepal.

Spokesperson for the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar said at a weekly press briefing in New Delhi that India looked forward to working with the next democratically elected government of Nepal.

According to the audio-visual details of the press briefing posted on the MEA website, the MEA spokesperson said, “India has age-old unique time-tested ties of friendship with the country. We look forward to working with the next democratically elected government in Nepal to advance our close and multi-faceted partnership across all sectors and to support Nepal in its pursuit of peace, stability, economic prosperity for all round development.”
