SURUNGA: An Indian national was electrocuted at a bridge construction site in Gaurigunj Rural Municipality-6 of Jhapa district on Tuesday night.

The deceased has been identified as 20-year-old manual worker Arpan Meche.

According to the District Police Office, Jhapa, Meche received an electric shock while he was shutting down a machine at the site over the Ramchandra River.

Meche, who lost consciousness after the incident was rushed to the Damak-based Lifeline Hospital.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, informed the police.
