Indian missing for last five days

Pokhara, July 9

An Indian national, who had come from New Delhi to make sweets at a wedding party in Pokhara, has been missing for the past five days.

The missing Indian identified as Mahesh Rautela, 35, had come to Pokhara Grand Hotel on July 5 to prepare sweets.

He had been invited to prepare sweets at the wedding party of the bridegroom from Janakpur and bride from New Delhi. Rautela went missing while swimming in the Fewa Lake at Check dam, police said.

DSP Nabin Karki, chief at ward police office Baidam said a special rescue team has been deployed for a search operation of the missing person, but to no avail.

Rautela’s friend, who had accompanied him from New Delhi, said Rautela had gone swimming despite his insistence not to go. His family members have come from New Delhi to search for him in Pokhara.

Relatives, including Rautela’s father, returned home two days ago after failing to trace his whereabouts.
