Items found in Bajura polling stations: sack of paper in Himali Rural Municipality, bomb detonated in Budhiganga

BAJURA: A suspicious item was found on the premises of the polling station in Himali Rural Municipality-4 of Bajura district on Wednesday.

Security personnel were immediately informed of the suspicious sack discovered by local residents at around 6:30 am today, according to the Chief of Bajura Dstrict Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of police Dil Bahadur Bogati.

Nepal Army's team despatched for the poll security reached the site only to find the sack containing a chart paper with writing that read "Ne Ka Pa Ekata Jindabad" (translated as "Hail Unification of Nepal Communist Party"), DSP Bogati informed.

The sack was found at the distance of 250 metres from the polling station at the Mangalmata Lower Secondary School, said police.

In a separate incident in the district, Nepal Army's bomb disposal team today detonated a sutali bomb placed at Trishakti Higher Secondary School, the polling centre in Budhiganga Municipality-9.

It has been learned that a local child was playing with an item wrapped with plastic strings found on the premises of the polling centre at around 8:00 am when one of the local residents identified it as bomb. The NA team had put the item in flames which exploded after an hour.

The security personnel were immediately informed of the bomb, said a local resident.
