Jaishankar calls on PM Oli

KATHMANDU: Visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at his official residence in Baluwatar.

The two leaders initially held a one-on-one meeting that lasted for more than an hour, after which the delegations joined.

Emerging from the meeting, Oli’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Rajan Bhattarai said the visiting Indian minister conveyed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to taking Nepal-India relations to new heights.

Oli also expressed the same.

When asked by journalists whether the report of the Eminent Persons Group on Nepal-India Relations was discussed in the meeting, he just said the two prime ministers would receive the report at an appropriate time.
