Kailash Helicopter assists in search of drowned students

KATHMANDU: Kailash Helicopter has provided assistance to administrators from Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality of Solukhumbu who have been working relentlessly to retrieve bodies of the drowned children at Gokyo Lake at an altitude of 4,900 metres.

The search equipment which was sent by Senior Captain Maurizio Folini from Switzerland was handed over by chairman of the company Captain Ashish Sherchan to Pemba Gyaltsen Sherpa, a local from the rural municipality.

The company hopes to expedite the search operation through their assistance.

Three students of Khumjung Secondary School who had been on an educational tour had drowned in Gokyo Lake in Solukhumbu district on August 4. The ninth graders were identified as Pemba Nuru Sherpa, Pemba Dorje Sherpa and Sunil Barailey.
