KHOTANG: A woman has died on the way to a hospital for the want of timely delivery service in the district, on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Ganga Devi Tamang (22) of Kharmi-8 of Khotang district.

According to her brother in-law, Tamang was suffering from labour pain for some days.

As the complications mounted, the family decided to take her to the hospital based in Diktel, the district headquarters; but she succumbed to the pain on the way.

Family members said the body was taken to the Khotang District Hospital for postmortem.

Later, the body was handed over to the relatives for the final rituals.

She had tied the conjugal knot with Maha Prasad Tamang last year, who is currently in Saudi Arabia for employment.
