Mayor of Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality Deep Narayan Rijal inaugurated the Diktel-Dumli-Dobela road section in Khotang today.

The construction of the road section had started in the fiscal 2008/9. The 22-kilometre road connects ward 1, 7 and 8 of the municipality and also serves as the shortest route between Sakela Rural Municipality and district headquarters Diktel.

It connects Diktel and Ratanchha as well. “Preparations to construct a motorable bridge over the Sapsukhola are under way,” said Mayor Rijal.  Khotang Transport Entrepreneur Association Chairperson Bishnu Kumar Shrestha said they would operate jeep along Diktel to Dobela. An estimated Rs 8 million was spend for the road construction.
