Koirala says local polls unlikely in new structure

BESISHAHAR: Nepali Congress General Secretary, Dr Shashanka Koirala, has said that local polls are unlikely to be held in the new structure.

Concluding the diamond jubilee celebrations of Adarsha Bal Secondary School at Sundarbazaar on Wednesday, leader Koirala said, "There is lots of dispute on the issue of restructuring. So the local poll should be held in the old structure."

He further said, restructuring of the state should be done in people interest not against their aspiration. It was imperative to gain people support for constitution implementation.

The NC General Secretary argued that final structure of the provinces would be determined within 3-4 months after local poll. He further said that election of province and centre could be held after passing the constitution amendment proposal.
