Campus chief, asst chief suspected of being abducted

Dhangadi, February 15

Lamki Multiple Campus Chief and Assistant Campus Chief are suspected to have been abducted today.

Students of All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary aligned with Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist are suspected to have kidnapped Campus Chief Bhisma Thapa and Assistant Chief Kamal Bista.

SP Arjun Chand at District Police Office Kailali said that search was on to find both of them.

“Their mobile phones are switched off and their whereabouts are still not known,” SP Chand said.

SP Chand said police were probing students affiliated with the revolutionary party suspecting their role in the abduction.

“Our preliminary investigation shows that they might have been kidnapped as the revolutionary students had been pressing them to stop the Free Students’ Union polls”, Chand said. ANNIST-R has been protesting against the FSU polls slated for February 25.

ANNIST-R has warned against conducting the polls in campuses across the country.

All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union-Revolutionary leader Dipendra Chalaune, however, refuted the allegation.

“I do not think they were abducted by our students.”
