Landslide buries 5 houses in Bajhang

BAITADI: Five houses have been buried due to a landslide triggered by torrential rainfall in Bajhang district in far-western Nepal on Friday.

Similarly, eight houses are at high risk of landslide.

DSP Narendra Chand of the District Police Office, Bajhang, said that the landslide had swept away the houses of Bam Bahadur Bohara, Gore Bohara, Lal Bahadur Bohara, Mohan Bahadur Bohara and Min Bahadur Bohara of Chukjhad in Kanda VDC-4.

Similarly, the houses of Ram Bohara, Jogmal Bohara, Dalbhan Kami, Phuge Bohara Giri Bohara and Dhurpu Bohara among others are at high risk of landslide.

Police said that no human casualties have been reported yet.

DSP Chand said that they have failed to get latest information about the incident as communication services have remained disrupted.

It has been learned that there are around 105 households in Chukjhad.

The entire village is now at high risk of landslide as the rain is still continuing.

DSP Chand said that a police team has headed towards the incident site.

The incident site is three days' walk from the district headquarters, Chainpur.
