Landslide halts vehicular movement along Hetauda-Kathmandu route

HETAUDA: Transportation along the Hetauda-Kulekhani-Kathmandu route has remained blocked following a landslide at Bagjhora stretch of the Tribhuvan Highway since the wee hours of Wednesday.

The landslide triggered by incessant downpour has also obstructed vehicular movement along Daman and Palung routes. A dozer has been despatched from Hetauda to clear the landslide debris.

Makawanpur's Chief District Officer (CDO) Narayan Prasad Sharma Dawadi said that the transportation would resume within two hours if there was improvement in the weather.

Thousands of passengers in jeeps, microbuses, trucks and motorbikes heading towards Kathmandu from Hetauda are stranded in the blockage, said the District Police Office, Makawanpur.
