Landslides obstruct vehicular movement along Hetauda-Kulekhani road

HETAUDA: Vehicular movement along Hetauda-Kulekhani road section has been obstructed since Monday night due to landslides at three places in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality of Makawanpur district.

According to Superintendent of Police at the District Officer of Makawanpur, Buddhi Raj Gurung, the transportation came to halt after landslides triggered by incessant rain struck at Kulekhani, Sisneri cliff and Mahalakshmi cliff, all located in Indrasarobar Rural Municipality ward no. 2 and latter in ward no. 3. Although the landslide debris has been cleared at Kulekhani, the efforts are underway clear the piles of debris from rest of the places to resume vehicular movement towards Kathmandu from Hetauda and vice versa.

It has been assumed that it would take a few more hours to clear the landslide debris below the Mahalakshmi cliff.

Meanwhile, hundreds of passengers en route from Hetauda to Kathmandu have been stranded in the obstruction.
