Left alliance ahead in most constituencies

The left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN-Maoist Centre won six parliamentary seats and its candidates are leading in 77 parliamentary constituencies.

According to the latest data provided by the Election Commission, the left alliance candidates are leading in most of the  37 parliamentary first-past-the-post constituencies  in 32 districts where the first phase of provincial and parliamentary elections was held on November 26.

Left alliance candidates are leading even in majority of the constituencies in the  45 districts that went to the polls yesterday.

The CPN-UML parliamentary first-past-the-post election candidate Palden Chopang Gurung won in Manang district. He defeated his nearest rival,  Nepali Congress candidate Tek Bahadur Gurung, by 289 votes. Palden Chopang got 2,300 votes against  Tek Bahadur’s  2,021 votes.

Independent candidate Rajiv Gurung alias Deepak Manange was elected from province ‘B’ of Manang district. Manange  got 1,410 votes defeating his nearest  rival Karma Gurung of Nepali Congress who got 1,020 votes. Chinta Bahadur Ghale, Nepali Congress’s provincial first-past-the post candidate, won from  Manang ‘A’. He secured 998 votes, while his nearest rival Dhorge Dandul Gurung of UML polled 896 votes.

UML parliamentary FPTP candidate from Mustang Prem Prasad Tulachan won with  3,544 votes. His nearest  contender Romi Gauchan Thakali of NC got 3,281 votes. Thakali had won the 2013 Constituent Assembly election.

UML provincial FPTP candidate Indradhara Bista was elected from provincial FPTP seat of Mustang ‘A’. His rival, NC’s Mikur Gurung, got 657 votes. Mahendra Bahadur Thakali of left alliance won Mustang ‘B’. He got 2,448 votes.

UML’s Bhupendra Bahadur Thapa, won the parliamentary FPTP seat from Myagdi, securing  23,308 votes. His closest rival, NC’s Khum Bahadur Garbuja, got 20,980 votes.

UML parliamentary FPTP candidate from Bajhang won the seat, securing 34,612 votes. His nearest rival, NC’s Prithivi Bahadur Singh, got 26,910 votes.

UML parliamentary FPTP candidate from Mugu, Gopal Bahadur Bom, secured 13,034 votes, defeating NC’s Hasta Bahadur Malla, who polled 9,861 votes.

UML’s provincial FPTP candidate from Humla ‘A’ Dal Bahadur Rawal secured 7,158 votes to defeat NC’s Than Bahadur, who got 4,811 votes.

NC’s Jeevan Bahadur Sahi won Humla ‘B’, securing  4,519 votes. His nearest rival from the left alliance Bijaya Bhandari got 3,993 votes.

CPN-MC’s parliamentary FPTP candidate Kamala Roka has won from Rukum East, securing 16,934 votes. Her closest rival, NC’s Hari Shankar Gharti, got 4,406 votes.

CPN-MC candidates won both provincial assembly seats of Rukum East.

Tej Bahadur Oli of Rukum East ‘A’ won with  5,427 votes.  His nearest rival  NC’s Dut Kumar Pun,  got only 2,144 votes. Likewise, Purna Bahadur Gharti secured 5,816 votes to defeat NC’s Data Bahadur Basnet 3,111 votes.

CPN-MC Rato Kami, who got 16,810 votes, won Rukum West ‘A’. His rival NC’s Krishna Bahadur Rokaya got 8,577 votes.

CPN-MC’s Jagat Simkhada, who got 17,605 votes, won Dhading ‘A’ defeating NC’s Dambar Bahadur Tamang, who got 15,774 votes.

CPN-MC’s Naresh Bhandari, won Jumla ‘A’ with  12,574 votes. His closest rival NC’s Raju Singh Kathayat got 8,537 votes.

Left alliance provincial FPTP candidate Nanda Singh  Budha from Dolpa ‘A’ won the election. He got 5,490 votes against  NC’s Begam Singh Thakuri’s 1,213 votes.

UML’s Baldev Regmi, won Bajura ‘A’ polling 9,840 votes. His nearest  rival, NC’s Janak Raj Giri, got 8,311 votes. UML’s Prakash Shah, who got 18,189 votes, won Bajura ‘B’. His nearest rival, NC’s Padam Sahi, got 14,977 votes.

Left alliance provincial FPTP candidate from Jumla ‘B’ Padam Bahadur Rokaya polled 10,458 votes to defeat NC’s Bhim Nidhi Hamal, who got 5,280 votes.

Independent candidate Chhaka Bahadur Lama for won the parliamentary seat from Humla, securing 8,491 votes. He defeated Mangal Bahadur Sahi of Nepali Congress, who got 8,444 votes.
