Locals have been thronging Dolakha District Administration Office to receive citizenship certificates of late.

Maximum district residents received citizenship certificates after Upper Tamakoshi Hydroelectricity Project issued primary shares to locals from the affected areas.

Chief District Officer Sagar Mani Pathak said the office had distributed around 3,000 citizenship certificates to the district dwellers. The Tamakoshi Hydroelectricity Project issued the shares from August 9. As many as 300 cards have been distributed from the District Administration Office, Charikot, and Area Administration Office, Bigu Rural Municipality in a day.

Chini Maya Thami, a local of Kalinchowk Rural Municipality said she had reached the DAO to make the citizenship certificate for the share of the Tamakoshi hydel project.

Another local Manita Karki of Tamakoshi Rural Municipality who was in line fainted due to the crowd of the people. The administration said that maximum Secondary Education Examination graduates received the cards.

Narayan Subedi. a staffer at the administration office said that they had distributed 250 to 300 citizenship cards from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm in a day.

Administrative officer Bigu Prem Prasad Sapkota said as many as 600 citizenship certificates were distributed in a week. The deadline for the share will end by August 30.
