Mahayagya collects around Rs 1.9 million

DAMAK: Proceeds of approximately Rs 1.9 million have been collected in course of the mahayagya, a grand religious ceremony, held at the Tripureshwor Shiva temple at Damak-4 in Jhapa district.

The Srimad Bhagawat Dhanyanchal Mahayagya programme organised in the temple premises from November 25 to December 3 collected Rs 1,894,435, according to Punya Prasad Khanal, Vice President of the temple management committee and the Coordinator of the Mahayagya publicity committee.

Khanal said, out of the total fund collected, Rs 710,282 has been spent for the Mahayagya. He further added that the remaining money would be used for constructing a pilgrim's rest house at the place.

If money is saved after the construction of the rest house, it will be deposited in the temple fund, it is stated.
