KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Speaker Onsari Gharti visited ailing Maoist leader Barshaman Pun at the Sukhumvit Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok on Wednesday.

Dahal and Gharti had flown to the Thai capital earlier today to meet the ailing leader, who reportedly suffers from hereditary hyperbilirubinemia (jaundice).

Speaker Gharti is the spouse of the Maoist secretary.

It has been learned that they are scheduled to meet a team of doctors attending to Pun tomorrow morning.

Pun was flown to Bangkok after his health deteriorated even after he was treated in Gurgaon-based Medanta City Hospital of India.

Pun's condition is said to be improving with decrease in blood bilirubin level.

Upon their arrival in Bangkok, former Prime Minister Dahal and Speaker Gharti were received by Nepal's Ambassador to Thailand Khagaraj Adhikari. Dahal is accompanied by his spouse Sita also.
