NAWALPARASI: Ramgram Municipality based in west Nawalparasi district has set up a mediation bench for issuing decisions on the cases registered at its Judicial Committee.

The municipality office established the bench to deliver judicial services to the right-holders through mediation system.

According to Judicial Committee Coordinator and Deputy Mayor Rambha Kunwar, the mediation bench was put in place to increase marginalized communities' access to justice. The municipality has also arranged for a system of hearing involving petitioner and defendant within the new mechanism realizing that settling all the disputes and cases through mediation is not possible.

As many as 100 applications have been so far registered at the Judicial Committee of Ramgram Municipality.
