Modern custody cell for first time in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: A modern custody cell has been constructed for the first time in Rautahat.

The District Development Committee, Gaur Municipality and District Drinking Water and Sanitation Office provided the financial aid to construct the modern and women-friendly custody at the premises of the District Police Office.

The National Human Rights Commission, in course of monitoring the cell few months ago, had suggested construction of a women-friendly custody cell at the District Police Office.

The custody has separate rooms for women and men detainees along with toilet as well as television and telephone services.

Inaugurating the custody, Superintendent of Police, Sanubabu Thapaliya, thanked all who provided support to construct the modern custody, saying it would help the women detainees.
