Mother-son go missing in Myagdi River while learning to drive

POKHARA: A woman and her 8-year-old kid fell into Myagdi River at Beni Municipality-7, Myagdi while learning to drive a taxi on Friday.

28-year-old Shobha Adhikari (Khati) of JalJala-2 in Parbat along with her son, Sagar Khati, fell into the river at 11:30 am when the driving instructor was out leaving her behind the steering wheel with her son inside the vehicle.

The mother and son went missing after Myagdi River swept the taxi away and into Kali Gandaki River. Although a search and rescue operation is in progress, they haven’t been found yet, police informed.

District Police Office, Myagdi has detained the driving institute operator, Karna Bahadur Ghimire.
