NA concludes unification trail trek

KATHMANDU: A group of Nepali Army personnel have completed a six-day long trek from Gorkha Durbar, the birthplace of Prithivi Narayan Shah to Kathmandu, an initiative taken in a bid to recognise the unification campaign led by the king.

PN Shah had, 280 years ago, travelled to Kathmandu valley on foot with some soldiers, who had later attacked and ruled the valley along with other smaller states around the valley, this has been marked as the unification campaign that built modern Nepal.

The Nepali Army, also initiated the trek in a bid to develop it as a new hiking route in the country.
