LAHAN: Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML Siraha district units have lent their support to the ongoing Madhes movement waged by the United Democratic Madhesi Front.

The NC organised a support rally in Lahan while the UML Siraha expressed its support to the Madhes movement organising a press conference.

The NC Siraha has also called for establishing an autonomous Madhes province.

The UIML Siraha has called two provinces in the Madhes from Jhapa in the east to Kanchanpur in the west.

Likewise, it demanded that the electoral constituencies be determined on the basis of population, arrangements be made for ensuring the proportional inclusiveness representation and implementation of the 22-point and the eight-point agreements signed in the past.

The UML Siraha Chairman Kedarnath Yadav said they would join the street protests together with the United Democratic Madhesi Front if the genuine demands were not fulfilled.
