NA defuses socket bombs found in Udayapur

GAIGHAT, UDAYAPUR: As many as six socket bombs planted near the residence of a farmer in Sirbani village of Udayapurghadi Rural Municipality-2 in Udayapur district were defused on Tuesday.

Nepal Army's Bhawani Battalion Company defused the bombs. The locals informed the police after coming across objects resembling bombs.

A bomb disposal team led by Captain Bharat Giri of Bhawani Battalion Company Taraghari Katari went to the incident site and defused the bombs, the Battalion's Lieutenant Colonel Suman Khadka said.

NA suspected that the bombs could have been hidden by someone during the Maoist insurgency.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
