Nepal, India to conduct joint survey along borderline

BHOJPUR: The Nepal-India Border Security Meeting has agreed to conduct a joint survey briskly.

Chief District Officers, police chiefs and chiefs of Armed Police Force border security offices in Morang, Sunsari and Jhapa districts from Nepal side participated in the meeting while district chiefs and security officers of Arariya, Kisangunj and Supaul districts from India were present.

The meeting has come to an agreement to carry out a joint survey and clarify the border area of Nepal’s Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari districts and India’s Kisangunj, Arariaya and Supaul districts.

It has been agreed to study the border area and to better manage the border security by repairing and reconstructing the border pillars within a year, said the Chief District Officer of Morang, Ganesh Raj Karki.

In a press conference in Biratnagar on Monday, the officials shared that the Nepal-India border joint survey team agreed to conduct the survey after solving the border security issues immediately.

District Magistrate Himanshu Sharma and security officers of Arariya district of Indian side informed that the border pillars would be repaired, maintained or reconstructed if necessary, while the no man’s land would be evacuated.
