Nepal Police to run football academy

KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Nepal Police reached an agreement to run a football academy at the Nepal Police School in Sanga, Kavre.

ANFA President Karma Tsering Sherpa and AIG Niraj Bahadur Shahi signed the memorandum of understanding at the Nepal Police headquarters on Sunday.

As per the MoU, 21 students — seven from Nepal Police School, seven selected from across the country with scholarship from ANFA and seven who wish to get enrolled — will be admitted in academy, informed the ANFA.

The ANFA will provide the academy with technical support for four years. Inspector General of Police Shailesh Thapa Kshetri, former national team skipper and National Sports Council Member Hari Khadka, ANFA vice-presidents Shixit Parajuli and Upendra Man Singh were also present on the occasion.
