Nepal records light tremor after six days

KATHMANDU: National Seismological Centre has recorded a light tremor of local magnitude 4.2 in Dolakha district of eastern Nepal on Wednesday evening.

The NSC listed it as an aftershock of the devastating April 25 earthquake.

The epicentre of this significant tremor, recorded after six days, lies close to Thulopatal, southeast of the district headquarters Charikot. The coordinates of the epicentre are given as 27.60°N, 86.19°E.

The last tremor was recorded in Dolakha district at 6:23 pm on September 9.

According to the NSC records, so far as many as 394 aftershocks of local magnitude 4.0 or above have followed the ML 7.6 earthquake that hit Gorkha district on April 25.
