Nepali artist's solo art exhibition in Bangladesh

KATHMANDU: A Nepali artist has organised a solo art exhibition in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

Dipendra Man Banepali from Bhaktapur organised the exhibition as a guest artist at the International Art and Handicraft Exhibition. He has included artworks depicting the Nepali culture and places of archaeological, historical and religious importance.

He welcomed the visitors to the exhibition by presenting them with Dhaka topi (traditional Nepali cap made of Dhaka fabric) and invited them to visit Nepal during the Visit Nepal Year, 2020. Banepali said he also informed the visitors about different touristic places in Nepal.

Senior Bangladeshi artist Prof Hamid Udazman Khan said the International Art and Craft Fair has been held for the first time in Bangladesh and expressed confidence that it would promote mutual relations between the two nations.

Twenty artists participated in the art section and 26 artists in the handicraft section of the exhibition. Artists from Nepal, India and Bangladesh have participated in the event. The exhibition started on Saturday and will last for a week.
