KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has this year postponed the tea party that it has been organising every year on the day of 'Kojagrat' to mark various festivals as Bada Dashain, Deepawali, Nepal Sambat and Chhath.

The NC stated that it would organise the tea party on November 2, Friday. The social occasion was earlier scheduled for October 24.

NC central committee member Dila Sangraula said the decision to defer the tea party has been taken due to the demise of party leader Chakra Prasad Bastola.

Another leader Pradip Poudel said the party has decided to postpone all of its programmes except the condolence programme.

Bastola passed away on October 13.
